Could Cunha Unseat Stearns?

September 27, 2008 By: Don Marsh Category: Candidates

I’ve only seen a few Tim Cunha signs, but it is my job to take notice and magnify these things. Cunha is 20 year incumbent Republican Cliff Stearns‘ opponent for the 6th District’s seat in the US House of Representatives. The past couple of elections, Stearns has only had to contend with Dave Bruderly, a favorite of the left-most wing of the local Democratic Party. Cunha appears to be a swing in the other direction. Bruderly posted a respectable 52-48% loss last time. This one could be much closer.

Both candidates should be at the League of Women Voters Candidate Forum at Savannah Grand on the 300 block of N. Main Street from 10am-2pm Saturday, October 4.

  1. That vote tally in 2006 was Stearns 59% – Bruderly 41%. Just for the record.
